Very cool place with a unique local history behind it. It's a 4 mile drive in from the main road past the high school and then a .4 mile walk up through the tunnel. Very dark and cold throughout with graffiti, take a second to look at the "artwork" and try to avoid the slippery mud along the middle.

Great hike. We did the longer loop hike. It was a little over 3 miles. We loved it. My family is new to the hiking game and we’re definitely not in the greatest of shape. We all survived. Wore out, but survived lol. Highly recommended.

In the mountains, the road abruptly stops and you have to walk to get to the tunnel. It's not a very far distance to get from parking to the tunnel. There may be wildlife around, I saw a snake and my cousin was approached by a black bear. There is graffiti in the tunnel and on the roads, some are not very nice to explain to children. The tunnel does not seem long at first, but it is a lot longer than I thought. Was a fun experience and memories made.
